Energy Masterclass 2009

The Masterclass promises to be a timely opportunity to learn about the future of energy, and will not only include presentations about some of the technology challenges associated with the primary sources of energy including Oil, Gas, Nuclear and Coal, but also presentations about renewable energy sources including Geothermal, Solar, Wind, Wave and Biomass, and the emerging technology of CO2 sequestration. On the demand side, we have speakers who will discuss challenges in the automotive and air transport industry, as well as experts who work on energy demand in buildings and heavy industry. In addition, there will be some discussion about the environmental challenges of energy supply and consumption, as well as a review of the geopolitical constraints and potential impact on the economy of adopting different energy policies.

Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided during the Masterclass and students accepted on the course will be offered a small bursary to help cover the costs of their accommodation in college. In addition, there will be a Masterclass dinner to which all participants are invited.
